Personal Support Services are designed to offer assistance to children age 12+ and adults with intellectual, developmental, or psychiatric disabilities, as well as to people with head injuries, dementia or other conditions of aging or injury. We focus our services on promoting everyone’s ability to be active and engaged members of their community. We work with individuals to ensure that they are leading meaningful and engaged lives that reflect their dreams, goals and preferences.
KAMS respite program assists with short-term relief for a few hours, a day, a weekend, or longer. It provides relief to support families who take care of our participants in the home setting.
KAMS assists participants with job development training which develops the skills and knowledge needed for employment success. Each training is person centered to meet the needs of the participant and allows them to compete in today's job market.
KAMS provides training and employment support for participants. KAMS works with participants to develop each individual's employment plan in order to develop skills, and become an active and thriving member of the workforce.
Community development supports participants with being a part of an integrated involvement, obtaining employment and becoming engaged in activities and events within the community.
KAMS identifies and screens qualified Direct Support Professionals for Self-Directing people to meet and hire. KAMS will match staff on criteria specified by the people who are hiring them. These will include schedules, preferred activities, individualized programs, health considerations, as well as all other priorities the hiring person and/or their team requests.
KAMS verifies qualifications before an employee begins working.
Once a person has selected their staff, KAMS will complete background checks and train them in KAMS’ basic expectations of all staff.
KAMS tracks time sheets that must be signed by hiring person, in order to submit invoices for payment. KAMS recommends trying to avoid excessive use of overtime to ensure that staff is alert and able to provide their best supports. However, from time-to-time situations arise that warrant it.
Performance issues arise from time-to-time for a variety of reasons. When they do, KAMS would like to be informed. KAMS will handle all performance issues including terminating staff, when warranted. KAMS is committed to ensuring the workplace is free of harassment.
